On The Farm Workshops

Throughout the year, Sunray Community Farm plans to offer hands-on workshops focused on gardening, regenerative agriculture, ecology, and practical land-based skills.

Our workshops are designed to provide accessible, real-world learning experiences for gardeners, homesteaders, aspiring farmers, and anyone interested in developing a deeper connection with the land. Many workshops will combine discussion, demonstration, and hands-on participation, allowing participants to learn by doing.

Topics may include:

  • No-till gardening and market garden techniques

  • Soil health and compost making

  • Seed starting and plant propagation

  • Nursery production and native plants

  • Agroforestry and edible landscapes

  • Mushroom cultivation

  • Rainwater harvesting and water management

  • Cover crops and fertility building

  • Backyard food production

  • Poultry and small livestock systems

  • Fruit tree planting and care

  • Herbalism and medicinal plants

  • Foraging and wild foods

  • Ecological design and land stewardship

  • Carpentry and the construction of outdoor spaces

  • Garden structures, sheds, trellises, and fencing

  • Timber framing using mortise and tenon joinery

  • Tool use, maintenance, and traditional land-based skills

  • Seasonal food preservation and farm-to-table skills

As the farm grows, we hope to collaborate with guest instructors, local craftspeople, farmers, educators, and practitioners to offer an even wider variety of learning opportunities.

Whether you're looking to start a backyard garden, improve an existing growing space, learn practical homesteading skills, or simply spend time learning outdoors with others, we hope our workshops will provide opportunities to grow knowledge, confidence, and community.

Workshop announcements and registration information will be posted as they become available.
